LinkShare Review
|
LinkShare is one of the oldest affiliate networks and is the affiliate home to some of the largest companies in the world. The quality of some of the merchants is the only reason to look at this service - and it can be a pretty darn good reason!
Unfortunately, LinkShare seems bent on making it as difficult as possible to use their service. Passwords must repeatedly be changed. Affiliate company information must continually be updated. Cookies do not work right - bouncing you out of the system. And just wait until you try to create an affiliate link to a specific product. It is absolutely terrible trying to do this. The statistics available do not measure up, not even close, to those offered by other affiliate networks.
LinkShare is an extreme disappointment.
It has great merchants, including huge companies that may want to be an affiliate for.
However, the commission percentages tend to be very small.
LinkShare has historically not aggregated commission payments between merchants. You are paid directly by the merchants, which means you have to earn a minimum amount of commissions from a merchant to be paid anything. LinkShare is supposed to be addressing this.
Other affiliate networks offer similar products, the same or better commissions, easy to use affiliate signups, extensive statistics, easy linking, and aggregated payments. Unfortunately, every aspect of the LinkShare experience from an affiliate's perspective is abysmal. Avoid it if you can.
